My lovely wife and I decided to take a respite to Lake Geneva to celebrate the 10th anniversary of our engagement, and thanks to you Yelpers out there, we thoroughly enjoyed our two night stay at Seven Oaks. To sum it up in a single word, idyllic! The grounds, the friendly staff, the comfortable cottage, Grannie's Garden, wine and cheese greeting and the lovely morning breakfast delivered right to our front porch, all wonderful. The "21 and over" designation was music to our ears as we wanted a quiet, romantic get away, and that is exactly what we got. As we walked by other motels and resorts on our way to downtown Lake Geneva, we sure appreciated that we could return to quiet, lovely surroundings of Seven Oaks. One caution is that Seven Oaks is indeed a very short walk away from downtown but be advised that the walk back is mostly uphill! Our two day stay left us rejuvenated but wanting to remain longer, and our hopes are to return in the fall when the foliage and surroundings must be beautiful.

Hidden gem. Quiet, clean and safe. Just off the beaten path enough to make it quiet. Easy walk to lake & town. The family that owns the place live there and are super friendly and helpful. The room comes stocked with a welcome cheese plate & bottle of wine which was much appreciated.

Finally! I'm writing this review late in the game-but I was talking about B&B's and this place was at the top of my list! Quiet and secluded-but not too far away from the main strip. Heated floors in the bathroom!!!! It was summer when I was here-and let me tell you I still fell in love with the heated floors! Plush, comfy, warm, welcoming. The people who run this place are so nice and accommodating. I've included pictures-but I could have rocked on my chair and soaked in that huge tub forever and never leave my little home away from home. And the bath salts! I need to go back!

What a lovely place! My boyfriend & I were ready for a little getaway weekend and this was the perfect place. It seems to be family run & they definitely add all the extra touches to make a stay here special. We were able to check in two hours earlier than schedule and stayed in the Cambridge suite. The suite was very clean, up to date, & very quaint. We were greeted with wine & a cheese, cracker, & grape platter. Also, every morning they deliver breakfast (for free) that included croissants, a fruit platter, orange juice, yogurts, & cereals. This place is within walking distance from the downtown area (about a 10 minute walk) but I loved our suit so much I found myself wanting to stay in more than go out! I loved our short time here & already looking forward to coming back!

This review is long overdue. My boyfriend and I stayed at Seven Oaks a short while back and had a fantastic experience. Each room is its own little cabin space, most are unattached from one another, which makes you feel like you have the whole B&B to yourself. Our room was newly furnished and super clean. The grounds are beautiful and service was impeccable. From the wine and cheese you receive upon your arrival to the breakfast served to your door, this place pulls out all the stops. It is SO reasonably affordable and a short walk from the downtown area. We are going to make this a yearly overnight and already can't wait to go back next summer.

So I have to rate this as top notch! My husband needed to drop his car off several days earlier than we were going to stay at Sevenoaks to ride in one car with friends to stay in Chicago. The owners had no problem letting him park in their lot without paying! We could tell they were such nice owners. We arrived on Friday to Sevenoaks--it is a perfect location to town and water. The place is so nice and quaint. The owner Leon was hilarious making us laugh as we checked in. Our villa was awesome! 2 bottles of wine-cheese-& crackers were waiting for us. Then breakfast was delivered to our room in the am! I have a gf allergy and so they brought gf foods! Incredible we will defiantly stay again! Thank you.

Our 2 night stay at SevenOaks far exceeded my expectations. Having never come to a hotel/B&B where you're greeted with wine and cheese, they've set the bar pretty high for me. :) The bed was super comfy and had several types of pillows on it. The bathroom has heated floors and a towel warming bar in addition to the 2 person jacuzzi bathtub and shower with 3 showerheads. It was cozy and private: each suite has its own building, so you never hear people going down the hall or waiting for an elevator, and the property is fenced in so you don't see much from the road at all. This helps keep noise down as well. They have a great selection of movies to borrow from the main office. (We enjoyed "The Time Traveler's Wife" & "Julie & Julia.") The layout of the suite is also fantastic because it gives you a living room separate from the bedroom, and they even supply games for rainy day fun times. There are a few things about staying at SevenOaks that folks might want to know in order to get the most out of their time there: 1.) There is no telephone in the suite - so be sure to bring your cell phone with you! 2.) While there is high-quality shampoo, conditioner, and body wash in the shower and hand soap at the sink, if you want anything other than salt in your jacuzzi bath (which they've thoughtfully provided), you'll want to bring it along with you. I was happy that I'd packed my body wash. 3.) They have a *great* selection of teas in the room and a tea set for you to use, but if you're like me and have trouble sleeping some nights, you might want to bring some decaf or chamomile tea. Their selection gives you a lot of options, but they're all caffeinated. 4.) There's a liquor store in walking distance (about a city block away) that has a great selection of beer, wine, and spirits. While I didn't find much special about Lake Geneva, I thoroughly enjoyed the time we spent at SevenOaks, and I would be happy to stay there again.

My mom stayed here while she visited me and it was amazing. It's such a nice, cozy place and the people who run it are very friendly. The shower/bathroom has a heated floor (at least it did in her cabin) which was a fun perk! I recommend staying here if you want to bring back wine, cheese, and guests and just relax at home. Sometimes that's better than dealing with all the Lake Geneva tourists and packed bars.

Our old favorite place to stay near Lake Geneva was closed for renovations and we found Seven oaks. We now have a new favorite place to stay. The welcome basket of fruit, cheese, and a bottle of wine was perfect for relaxing after driving up from Schaumburg. The amenities were wonderful though I am not sure how someone can be so enamored by heated bathroom floors. I sure hope we are not due for unplanned renovations at home. Breakfasts were delivered to the room, warm and tasty. Amanda and her husband were warm and welcoming. All in all, a great place to stay when celebrating our anniversary.

Wifey kidnapped me for an overnight to Lake Geneva. A long overdue night away from our hectic lives in Chicago. We've stayed at several places in Lake Geneva over the years, and Seven Oaks is the best. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but the interior was perfect. Everything from meeting Amanda at the reception desk, the complimentary wine and cheese/fruit tray in the room, to breakfast delivered directly to our cottage the next morning was just perfect. Other reviewers mentioned the heated floor. I do have to say it was really nice on a cold winter night. Also great recommendation of massage therapists for a romantic couple massage from Seven Oaks - highly recommend if you are here!

My boyfriend and I came here to celebrate our 5 year anniversary and we had a blast. the complementary cheese, breakfast and wine of your choice, the heated floor, the huge DVD selection, the Jacuzzi. We stayed 2 nights and it was great. The staff is friendly and are there for you when you need them.

HEAVEN. My boyfriend and I took a chance on this place last fall for a weekend getaway. It was fairly new at the time. We could not have been more pleased. All of the cabins are like little houses and are very nicely and comfortably furnished. We went in the off season, so the price was fairly reasonable. Complimentary bottle of wine and cheese tray ready in your room when you arrive! Fireplace Jacuzzi Cozy sofa Heated bathroom floors King size beds with heavenly linens DVD players and flat screen TVs Breakfast delivered to your front door! Rocking chairs on the front porch. The owners have a great DVD library. We borrowed some movies and only left the cabin once that weekend for dinner. ;) If you need to get out of Chicago for a weekend or even a night/day... DEFINITELY go here!

This place is AMAZING. Having your own little building with a full-suite really makes the "getaway" experience even better. They have an amazing DVD selection which just makes you want to hang out in our cottage and just relax by the fireplace. I can keep this short by putting it this way... we arrived on a Friday evening for a short weekend stay. Despite not ever being in Lake Geneva before, we decided to just watch a movie and order pizza because the place was so relaxing. I wouldn't consider staying anywhere else for future visits. Great, great place!

SevenOaks is a great place to stay in Lake Geneva. The suite you get is really more of a very cozy private apartment. The amenities are unbelievable. The service is top notch. When the weather became bad we were excited to stay in our suite. The fireplace and amazing bathroom helped. Overall I would recommend and repeat often.

The wife and I needed a quick getaway minus kids in the Chicagoland area, but wanted something away from the world a bit. I was able to stumble across Seven Oaks and I'm glad I did. Fantastic getaway place when you don't want to be bothered. The quality of the cabins are top notch. Very classy, and well kept. The bathroom is phenomenal. Big whirlpool tub, awesome triple head shower, heated floors and towels. Big king sized comfortable bed. No TV in the bedroom, so plan on other activities. :-) The living area is perfect and comfortable with flat screen TV and DVD player. Small kitchenette is sufficient, and the little extras like the wine, cheese and beverages was a nice touch. So was the delivered continental breakfast. A little lacking in variety, but free is free. Free WIFI too that is very speedy. Great location within waking distance to downtown Lake Geneva. The service was fantastic, great recommendations, friendly and available. Crazy good DVD collection too. Priced really well for what you get. If you're looking for a romantic getaway near town, you can't beat this.

Excellent weekend-getaway from Chicago with the wife. By far the best part of Lake Geneva was staying here. Cozy cabin, quiet, great DVD selection, breakfast delivered to our front door, extremely nice owners. Free bottle of wine, great coffee and tea. Very comfortable bed. 10 min walk to the lake. Can't think of any negatives. Coming back soon, hopefully!

This place is well worth it! Our cabin was far enough from the road that traffic noise was nonexistant. Cabins are roomy, living room with sectional couch, fireplace, flat-screen tv and dvd player. They have movies you can borrow at the office and some games in the room to play as well. Mini fridge is stocked with a cheese and cracker plate, some pop, water and a bottle of wine. Teas and coffee in the cupboard if you desire. The bed is firm but comfortable. Bathroom has heated floor and towel rack. Owners are extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the area. Their two dogs are adorable and super friendly. (they act like they never get attention but are obviously spoiled rotten (: ) Location is minutes from the downtown area. Majority of the local shops close at 5 so it was nice to go back to the cabin and relax. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. Croissants, pastry, fruit plates, cereal, oatmeal and OJ the each day. WIFI worked great. We had a router in our cabin so connection was never an issue. Highly recommended!

me and my husband spent a couple nights here for my birthday back in october. we had a great time..... cottages are beautiful and full of upgrades. this place is great with details. all the soaps provided were made by a local mom and pop business. staff was also very nice and accommodating. it was raining about 75% of our stay there. me and my husband didn't pack an umbrella, so we went to the office to borrow one, and the owner had anticipated us needing one and already had the umbrella waiting for us, now that's service. overall we were very pleased. prices are a little steep, but well worth it. we can't wait to go back!

This place is absolutely AMAZING!!! West stumbled upon the Yelp reviews of this place when we were looking for places to stay for a "getaway" weekend. It exceeded every expectation. The property is super cute. The people to own/run the place are lovely and super helpful. They recommended a couple of great restaurants. They have a huge selection of awesome movies for use during the stay. We watched I Love You Man and Date Night. Both were hysterical. The rooms were the best we have stayed in with so much attention to luxury. Upon arrival, there was a bottle of red wine waiting for us with a cheese tray in the refrigerator. The bathroom has HEATED (yet... heated) floors!! And a warming towel rack. The walk-in shower is spectacular and the enormous tub is heavenly. We loved that the tv/couch was in one room and the bed in another room. It is about a 10 minute walk to the lake, and a 15 minute walk to shops. We will for sure be staying here again. I highly highly recommend Seven Oaks. And while it is a little more than we wanted to pay to go away, it was worth every penny. Was the best weekend we have had in a long time.

My girlfriend and I needed to get out of the city. After looking around I chose Seven Oaks and we couldn't have been happier with the results. The cottages are very clean and comfortable. The proprietors are extremely helpful and very nice and down to earth. Two person jacuzzi tub, flat screen TV with DVD player, fireplace, modern appliances and King size bed with the softest sheets on earth!! Continental breakfast brought to your day each morning, and wine and cheese when you arrive, what more can you ask for? If privacy, romance, and incredible service are what you're looking for, then Seven Oaks is your answer.
